She was hurting so much by the evening of the 11th that they thought she might have high pressure, again. I screamed at doctors until they admitted her for pain control. They did an LP the next morning and thank goddess her pressure was fine.

Now they tell me it is migraine, which is exactly what happened to her sister in November. They told me not to give her imitrex because it might cause increased pressure, but that's what they gave her sister in the hospital (and what we've given her for every migraine after) and she hasn't needed a tap or been in the hospital since.

So I went ahead and gave her an imitrex, too.

Now she is sleeping peacefully, without a headache, for the first time in weeks.

Doctors can be so dumb.

I never heard of Pseudo Tumor Cerebri before the older one got it. Now both girls have it and they tell me it can be a genetic thing. I don't remember anyone else having it, though. Killer, cluster fuck migraines, yeah. But not this.

Fucking weird shit.

I could take some kind of break, couldn't I? Not sure how, but I could. Maybe from writing. Maybe from anything until I know for sure what comes next. But of course, we never know for sure what comes next, do we?

Ah, well. That's life. That's what people say, anyway.

I can't believe how well my son did while I was gone. For a kid who has the separation issues he does, he did fucking miraculously. No crying, whining, fussing. He just managed, that's all. What a marvel that is.

In other news, only a couple of days until bonus check time. Woo woo.

4:00 pm

A couple of middle kid's friends are here. She got fairly animated about that. Her head has felt a little weird, but so far we have it under control. I've been giving her amidrine on a regular schedule trying to keep a migraine from getting a hold on her.

It's funny how, when we get close to bonus check time, oldest and youngest kid tend to want to show me all kinds of stuff we can have for ONLY such and so dollars. Youngest kid is doing it as we speak.

I have a lot more self control, of course.

Speaking of that which Must be Bought, my son left the following pic on my desk with the note that I need to 'get a load of this!'"

This is the newest version of the Death Star by Lego. That is one seriously cool Lego set, to be honest. At $300.00, though, it may not find it's way into this house. As it is, I need a whole new room for the Legos he already has. Several hundred thousand individual Legos from countless sets over the years.

Middle girl lets me know she wants this:

From masterreplicas.com. It's touted thusly:

Official reproduction of Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Glowing, bright blue blade ignites with realistic power-up, and power-down lights effects.

Authentic lightsaber sound effects digitally recorded from the movie.

Features motion sensor controlled sound effects: power-up, power-down, idle, movement, and clash.

Durable yet light chrome plated aluminum body looks and feels like a real lightsaber.

New design is closer in look and feel to the size of a real lightsaber.

Sturdy polycarbonate blade is permanently attached to the hilt.

Uses 3 AA batteries, not included.

Includes display stand.

$119.00. She'll get this, too. I told her she could have something big after being sick for so long, and this is it.

Oldest one, when asked what she really, really wanted for her birthday says she just wants her nose pierced again. She'll be eighteen, she could have had something fairly serious, but that's what she wants, so. And let us not forget that we will spend several days at a nearby resort hotel spending way too much money on things we don't have any room for.
