A beach in central California. Took the pic yesterday when we took the kids for a long drive up north. You can see the full size here. I love the way the sun shines through the clouds at the horizon line, then goes into and out of shadow to the foreground. Pretty day.
I was feeling pretty depressed the night before, but at midnight, my husband came into our room bearing a candlelit cake and singing me "Happy Birthday". What a nifty gesture. Turns out he hid the cake in his car after work so I wouldn't see it. Then he gave me eighty dollars (which is a lot of money for us right now) so I could go get a pedicure, buy some books, whatever. I gave it back to him, though - right now, we need to do the laundry, buy groceries and etc. That's how we settled on the drive instead. I said I couldn't buy anything that would make me as happy as getting to go on a drive with my family and take pics.
So that's what we did. That was yesterday.
