Friday Five

If someone you hate tells you you're shit, you can ignore it. Just kind of yeah, yeah yeah. If someone you respect says you're shit, you have yourself an excuse not to try, by golly. I asked someone for their opinion, someone I respect and they told me I was almost glorious. Told me I needed to refine my talent. I think I had been hoping to hear she hated me.

Well, shit. Now I don't want to write. Heh. Let's do Friday Five , instead.

1. What is one thing you don't like about your body?
Having to see it when I take a bath. I never see myself fat in my head, so it always surprises me when I see it on my body.

2. What are two things you love about your body?
That it has never looked as heavy as it really is and that it hasn't deserted me, yet.

3. What are three things you want to change about your home?
I want it to be brighter, more airy, full of beams of sunshine. I want it to be more of a haven from the problems outsides its doors. I want the people who live inside it to be happier.

4. What are four books you want to read this year?
HA! I have eight to ten on the night table, waiting for me. 'The Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold; 'Little Altars Everywhere' by Rebecca Wells; 'The Hours' by Michael Cunningham' and "Reversible Errors' by Scott Turow. Isn't the new Dark Tower due out this fall?

5. What are five promises you have kept to yourself?
To love my children more than I was loved. To apologize to them and not blame them for my mistakes. To never leave them alone when they need my help. To be faithful to my husband. To get a handle on my spending.
