Rebellion!

After having been woken four times during one nap to tend to issues which could easily have been avoided had my husband had his own cell phone, and after being cursed at by people who were fussy because they weren't being found quickly enough, I decided to abandon my duties as concierge and took off for the beach. With my camera but without my phone.

This is where I started. Somewhere in Malibu, I think - I just got in the car and drove till I saw a place where I had both the rocks and a parking place I could afford. I was also intrigued by that low wall.

Who knows what that wall started life as. What's left is what you see above and what extends into the surf there in front of me. I ended up sitting at the end of the highest part looking out toward the lowest. I'm adding that in case you had been unable to divine it.

I'm still feeling a bit pissy, actually.

I want to be this bird in my next life. I want to spend my life at the beach, soaring above the sea and diving into it.

I stayed until the sun went all the way down and thought how cool it was that the sun seemed to be rising somewhere to the west of me even though I know it's only supposed to rise in the east, but then I thought well, I'm east of the people who are west of me, so it probably all worked out in the end.
