Switzer's Falls, California.

I was at the falls and my son called me. I turned around and was startled by the tree closest to me, the way I would be if I were at an ATM and turned to find someone coming up in line behind me. The tree further back stands watch and comforts me like knowing a security guard is there, too.

I'm going to buy a book about photography basics. Maybe take a class. I want to be able to show people what I see. Maybe what I see with an autistic eye isn't anything I can show you, though.

I don't know enough about photography to know, so maybe you serious photographers out there can tell me: is it hard for everyone to take a picture of what they see, or it a failing of mine? I so often take a picture of something that really sparks my interest only to find later that what I saw is no where at all in the photo I get. These trees are a lucky exception.
. . .

I didn't tell you! The other night, around 2:00 am, the kids and I were in the local grocery store (as we sometimes are - we're a strange bunch), and who do we see walking up the aisle? Jose Canseco!

I had no idea who they were talking about.

He was nice, though. Made my kids very happy by taking a picture with them. I realized then that I recognized him from "The Surreal Life" and that I had disliked him there. But he was nice to my kids, so I like him now.
